Matt grew up in Eden Prairie and graduated from high school at St. Paul Academy in 2004. From there he moved on to St. Olaf College, where he majored in English with a concentration in Media Studies. He studied abroad in Greece and the Caribbean before graduating in 2008. After two years living and working in Minneapolis, Matt moved to Denver in 2010 for law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He satisfied his broad-ranging curiosity by taking a wide variety of classes and participating in mock trial; working for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office and Boulder County District Attorney; and writing a directed research paper that was later published in 2016. Matt returned home to the Twin Cities after graduating from law school in 2013 and was admitted to the Minnesota Bar and is licensed to practice in Minnesota.
He joined Sanford, Pierson, Thone, and Strean in January 2018 after three and a half years at U.S. Bank, where he drafted and negotiated contracts and worked on regulatory compliance and risk management issues. Matt is excited to help clients achieve their personal and professional goals and while building relationships within the community.
